THE MANSION
Large room: 2 to 4 people
air conditioning and meals included: $475.

The Mansion is a beautiful, protected environment for retreats. Fashioned after a design by George Washington, the Claymont mansion was built by his grand-nephew, Bushrod Washington, in 1820. It is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Original oak paneling and crystal chandeliers preserve the architectural integrity of the building. The simply furnished library, music room, and ballroom provide both intimate and grand spaces for study. Large lawns and quiet woods allow for informal gatherings and moments of solitude. Only thirty guests can be accommodated in the mansion, on a first come, first serve basis.

Claymont is a year-round 350-acre retreat center
nestled in the Shenandoah Valley of West Virginia
located 50 minutes from Dulles Airport.
