Commitment A NEW CLASS BEGINS IN SEPTEMBER Our Commitment To You As directors and teachers we promise 1. to create a safe and supportive atmosphere for learning and unlearning. 2. to provide opportunities for cultivating sensory consciousness through which habitual holding patterns can be recognized and understood. 3. to offer help in the undoing of these patterns, through the use of observation, language, and touch, allowing our students access to more of their inherent naturalness, vitality and beauty. 4. to assist our students in the re-education of their kinesthetic and proprioceptive senses. 5. to find ways for helping our students apply the principles of Alexander's work into their personal and professional lives. Your Commitment To Us As students of the Alexander Alliance we ask for self-motivation, the desire to study, a good quality of attention, social maturity, real sympathy and respect for people, perseverance, and a capability for fun, enjoyment, and pleasure in learning. As a student of the Alexander Alliance you are responsible for meeting your financial contract in a timely manner. Tuition is divided into thirds and is due on the 1st of September, January, and April of each year. Your tuition remains the same throughout the course of your three-year training. Tuition for the new incoming class beginning September 2003, was $6300 (contact us for current tuition). We grant a fourth year grace period for making up missed time at no extra expense. Although our teachers course requires three years of study, we ask for a personal and financial commitment of one year of study. At the end of each year, we ask you to decide whether or not to commit personally and financially for another year. Each school year we, as directors, also review your standing as a student of the Alexander Alliance. Virtually everyone who begins our school graduates after they complete their full length of study. Many students wish to continue after they graduate; hence the formation of our Masters Program. If you would like to arrange to visit our school, feel free to call Molly at 215-386-9705, email mckampf@yahoo.com We look forward to the opportunity to work with you, and to help you on your way to becoming a teacher of the Alexander Work. Yours, Martha and Bruce Fertman |
